According to a Brazilian site known as Technoblog, the PS5 will have Wifi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1, which will both increase performance compared to the current PlayStation generation. The WiFi 6 standard offers a maximum download speed of 9.6 GBPs with respect to the original PS4 offering maximum speeds of 300 Mbps and the fifth generation technology of the PS4 Pro and PS4 SLIM offered up to 3.5 Gbps. The PS5 will release later this year, and PlayStation Plus should be transferred to the next generation of PlayStation.
WiFi 6 is 32 times faster than the original PS4 chip 4. It is also said that WiFi 6 is more stable in the congested areas of WiFi, allowing people living in very popular areas a more transparent experience than the material of the current generation. WiFi 6 is currently the best wifi available for Sony and apparently, they will include it as a key element of their new generation game console. Since the original PS4 units offer only 300 Mbps, this wifi upgrade will be a big problem for PlayStation fans.
Bluetooth 5.1 is not the latest generation of Bluetooth, with 5.2 also available now, but Sony apparently puts the PS5 almost up-to-date with Bluetooth technology. Bluetooth 2.1 has been used in the original PS4 and Bluetooth 4.0 is what the PS4 Pro uses, so the upgrade to version 5.1 is a big step forward for anyone who has the original PS4 model, and a step In the right direction for PS4 Pro owners. It is likely that improved Bluetooth will bring more Bluetooth compatible devices to the next generation PlayStation console.
